Nick Gould — Founder & Head Coach, PurEnergy Performance
Nick Gould is a personal trainer, performance coach, corrective exercise specialist, and an XC National Mountain Bike Champion dedicated to helping athletes train hard, stay durable, and perform at a high level — without breaking down.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and over 20 years of hands-on coaching experience, Nick brings a rare combination of elite athletic performance and deep movement expertise. As a national champion in cross-country mountain biking, he understands firsthand the physical demands of endurance sport — and the long-term consequences of training systems that prioritize short-term gains over durability and longevity.
Nick founded PurEnergy Performance to deliver a smarter, more sustainable approach to training. His coaching philosophy integrates corrective exercise, functional strength development, mobility, and endurance performance programming to build resilient athletes who can continue progressing year after year.
PurEnergy Performance operates out of a small, private, appointment-only training gym in downtown Durango, intentionally designed for focused, individualized coaching. The environment allows for detailed movement assessment, precise coaching, and thoughtful progression — without the distractions of a commercial gym.
Nick believes the strongest athletes aren’t just powerful — they’re durable, adaptable, and consistent. Training should support performance and quality of life, not lead to chronic pain, setbacks, or burnout.
