Two-on-One / Semi-Private Personal Training

PurEnergy Peformance offers the benefits of individualized coaching in a focused, private setting — shared with a training partner of similar goals and commitment. This option provides high-level coaching, structure, and accountability while allowing you to train alongside a spouse, friend, or training partner.

Sessions take place in our small, private downtown Durango gym, ensuring every athlete receives direct attention, coaching, and thoughtful progression — never a crowded or generic group workout.

What the Program Includes

Each session is coached and intentional, typically including:

1. Structured Warm-Up & Mobility

  • Joint-specific mobility (hips, ankles, thoracic spine, shoulders)

  • Movement prep tied to the day’s lifts

  • Activation and stability work

2. Individualized Strength Training

  • Primary and secondary strength lifts

  • Specific loading and progressions

  • Emphasis on posterior chain, trunk strength, and joint integrity

  • Modifications as needed for injuries or asymmetries

3. Durability & Corrective Elements

  • Single-leg and unilateral work

  • Stability and coordination drills

  • Tissue-tolerance development

  • Injury-resistant movement patterns

These elements are built into training — not treated as extras.

4. Performance-Relevant Conditioning (When Appropriate)

  • Short power or capacity work

  • Minimal “metcon” style fatigue

PurEnergy Performance’s training mission is to help mountain athletes and active adults train intelligently, build real strength, and stay durable — so performance in sport and life never comes at the expense of longevity.

PurEnergy Performance offers private and small group personal training in a private Durango gym, led by Nick Gould. With over 20 years of experience, Nick is an ISSA-certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, 200-hour Yoga Teacher, and holds a BS in Exercise Physiology. Training integrates strength, mobility, and injury-aware progression through one-on-one coaching or small group sessions (2–3 athletes) in a focused, non-class environment.
